Strawberry Season

I love this time of the year.  I know the end is in sight, but strawberry season is great.  We have ever-bearing plants, so we're only getting a couple of strawberries at a time.  Alas, since they are in season they're chepa and easy to find.  And the best thing about strawberries--Strawberry Shortcake!!!
With lots of whipped cream, of course.

More Oklahoma City

Brady found that jumping on the hotel bed was quite fun when we were in OKC for the tournament.  I vaguely recall a Mrs. Burger (she was Miss Myers back then.  And I was a Caskey) and I doing the same thing when we were in college, so I guess I can take the blame for this character trait.
The kid can't quite jump and get air underneath his feet, but he's so close.  He makes a good jumping movement at least.
And after that jumping he fell down right on the bed!

And then started getting into some mischief.
And after all that he was just worn out, so he sat right down and started messing with the remote.

Dancing Fountains

The biggest hit of the trip to Oklahoma City for little B was the dancing fountains. And really, who doesn't love a good water feature? Especially when it's hot and humid outside. These fountains were just a block away from our hotel and conveniently located on our way to the ballpark, so we got to see them and play in them quite a bit.
Brady, getting up close and personal with the water.
A wider angle of all the fountains.
Brady LOVES the water.
And then he figured out he could step on it and make the water stop coming out.
That was fun. A little live action video of the water fun. Needless to say, he was soaked by the time we headed back to the hotel, but it was completely worthwhile.

Ducks in OKC

The riverwalk area in Oklahoma City has quite a few ducks and little B enjoyed looking at them.
He would have preferred to jump into the water, however.A video of him watching the ducks. He does try to say the word duck at the end, although it sounds very similar to his word for dog, too. Duck, dog, whatever. It's close enough, right??

2010 Book List

You may have noticed a lack of book reviews on the blog. Fear not, I am still reading away at a good clip and staying up to date on my goal of 2 new books per month. Instead of writing a review of the books I read, I have just listed them out on the right side of the blog. A * next to the book means it was so good I want to add it to my permanent collection and OWN the book. If you have specific questions about the books, you'll just have to post questions for me! Happy Reading!

More Big 12 Tournament

What do you do after playing in big puddles? Well, Colten and Miss Aubrey had themselves some tasty Dipping Dots ice cream.
Brady took a short nap.
And then rode around on top of Grandpa Mike for awhile. Mike is Grandpa to Colten and Aubrey and is a HUGE help with all of the kids. Brady loves to ride around up high--gets a better view.

Big 12 Baseball

We traveled to Oklahoma City last week for the Big 12 Baseball Tournament. This annual trip is becoming quite fun for all the kids and us "wives." The team didn't do fantastic, but we beat KU and this weekend they are playing in the regionals round of the NCAA Tournament.

Our first game of the Big 12 tournament was delayed by nearly 3 hours due to some lightning and an Oklahoma downpour. Hmmm, so how do you kill 3 hours at a ballpark? Well, you find some big puddles and you play, of course!! Brady and Colten and Aubrey discovered a really big puddle at the bottom of the stairs and that entertained them for quite some time.
Everybody getting wet.

More pictures to come later!
