Yum, rice cereal.

Well, Brady had some rice cereal on Friday night for the first time. Poor kid, the high chair almost swallows him completely! Here he is just waiting patiently for his food. He was quite excited for the first few bites. Didn't really swallow much of anything, but was happy to put the spoon in his mouth. He's become very adept lately at grabbing nearby items and putting them straight to his mouth. It's his fun, new trick.
And, he's starting to not enjoy this cereal stuff so much. It's so hard to eat like this!! Why must I learn something new?
And here's a little video of the process. He's eaten 4 times now and 2 times have been really good and 2 times have been nominal.

Skinny midget

Yep, apparently that is what our child has become! Went to the doctor yesterday and Brady is healthy and developing right on target. I don't remember his head measurement, but he was in the 97% percentile with that. He is 24 inches long, which is the 13% percentile and he weigh 11 pounds and 1 ounce, which is 0.75%. 0.75%. Seriously!!!! Needless to say, he's a skinny, little thing. We're going to start him on rice cereal this month and see if that helps him gain any weight. The doctor isn't too worried about it right now.

So, our kid is short, skinny and has a big head. Woohoo!

Rollin' over!!!

Well, yesterday was a big day for Brady. He rolled over for the first time. When I picked him up Misty said that she had laid him down in the crib on his back at one point during the day and when she went to pick him up, he was on his stomach. She didn't see it, but he had rolled over. So, when we got home last night I put his favorite rattle just out of reach and sure enough, he rolled over to get to it. I wouldn't call it a full-blown rollover, but it's good enough. He starts on his back and then rolls over and gets stuck in between his arm and tummy.

We go to the doctor this morning for more shots and his checkup. I'll report in with details.

More Pictures

Here's a random collection of pictures from the last few days. Brady has discovered he can do things with those little hands of his. I picked him up from day care one day last week and when I got home, he had taken his sock off and was quite proud of himself. I put the sock back on and this is what happened. He just focused on trying to take it off again.
Here we are at the baseball game on St. Patrick's Day. Aren't we cute all decked out in our green? Our good friend Kelly took this picture and it turned out just great.
And here's another smile. The pictures just don't do it justice--I can't ever capture him at the perfect moment.
And his play mat is all sorts of fun. He makes noises at the parrot on the left. The black & white thing on the right side has a ball on it and when you rotate the ball it plays a song. Well he just hangs on to the ball all the time now. So much fun!

4 months old

Brady turned 4 months old on Sunday. He spent the day hanging out at home with mom and Grandma Weimer. Last week was a little rough as both mom & dad were sick, but both are on the mend now and Brady did not get sick.

He sure does love the TV these days. You turn him away from it and he is not a happy camper. Turn him so he can see it and he's just utterly fascinated. So, here he is just lounging on the recliner watching the tube.

And here's his official pictures next to Pooh. He's watching TV in this one as well.
He's getting pretty good at grabbing things now and moving them all around. He doesn't have a ton of control in his arms yet, so he has a tendency to whack himself in the head when he gets too excited. And everything goes in his mouth. Toys, burp cloths, fingers, hand, etc.
We go to the doctor on Thursday for his 4-month checkup.

Bat Cats sweep Niagara

The baseball team swept Niagara this past weekend, beating them in all 4 games. We went to the stadium for Sunday's game, which ended in a score of 15-1. It was a little cold, but quite nice in the suite. Had a fun time hanging out with all of our buddies--Colton, Aubrey, and Peyton. The first picture is celebrating after the game with Daddy.

Here's our warm little sweatshirt for those cold games. He may hate hats, but the hoodie is just fine.
Here's the backside of our onesie--Aunt Joni and Erin made it for Brady at one of the baby showers. Sorry it's upside down--I cannot get it rotated for some reason.

And here's the front.
The baseball team takes on Arizona State today in Surprise, Arizona (home of the Kansas City Royals spring training facility!). Basketball will continue later in the week with the Big 12 Tournament, so it's a busy, busy week.

The Bumbo

Brady sat in the Bumbo for the first time this past weekend. Saturday morning we decided to see what he thought of this contraption. He decided that eating his burp cloth was more fun.

And then he discovered the part in the middle and just stared at it for a long time.

Overall, he did a pretty good job. He's doing great holding his head up. We're working those arms, shoulders and back muscles. He can roll to his side, but he's not even close to rolling over completely yet. All in due time.

Crazy Hair

Brady has a mohawk! Heehee. The kid definitely has some crazy hair at times and we couldn't help but show off just how high it can get. And I even cut off the top of the picture!
We did his first haircut at home on Monday, Feb. 23. Nothing major, but we trimmed a few hairs on top of his head that could nearly reach his eyebrows. They were just way too long. He still has the baby mullet going on, but I don't know how long that will last. Especially since he's started to rub off the hair on the back of his head.

Listen to me laugh!

We were able to get a decent video of Brady laughing over the weekend. He just thinks Dad is sooo funny!
