New house

This is the view from the street looking at the front of the new house. The garage is on the left side. Our builder has been able to save a lot of the trees so far, which is great.

This is a view behind the house looking at the basement. The walls are up and they should be pouring the concrete floors sometime this week. The doorway on the right side of the picture leads to the safe room that is underneath our porch. We're looking forward to having a basement and a safe place to take cover with all the bad weather we've had lately.

This is another view of the basement from our neighbor's lot.

17 Weeks

How your baby's growing: Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

See what your baby looks like this week.

Belly Picture

This picture was taken at 15 weeks, but I've already outgrown most of my clothes. That baby just doesn't have anywhere to go other than out!

Welcome!

With all the events going on in our lives, Brian & I thought a blog would be a good way to keep everybody updated.

Baby Smoller is doing well. We are 17 weeks along and the heartbeat was good and strong at our last appointment. The due date is currently set for Nov. 23, 2008. We will find out whether we're having a boy or a girl on July 10. I am feeling a lot better since hitting the second trimester, so we're both very thankful for the progress.

In other news, we are selling our current home. We close on June 27 and then will move in with our friends Kenny & Susan while our new house is finished. We have a big weekend coming up with lots of family and friends coming over to help us move everything to storage! We're very grateful for all of the help.

That's it for now. Feel free to leave comments. I'm going to try and get some pictures up soon.
