Standing

Oh, the milestones will be coming fast and furious for the next few months. We passed another one on Tuesday, Aug. 25. Brady pulled himself up to a standing position for the first time. All we did was put the remote just out of his reach and UP he went. So, he did it once and Tuesday and then several times every day after that. It's great.
He's discovered he can pull himself on things other than the couch, too. Like the jump-a-roo.

This a fun age!

Bath talk

Here's a short video of our guy just jabbering away in the bathtub. He rather enjoys bath time these days-plays with his toys, plays with his books and splashes all around.

The B-Man Explores

As Brady gets more mobile, he obviously starts getting into more stuff. Nothing too dangerous yet. He has decided it's more fun to actually play underneath and around his Jumparoo rather than play in it! Especially when he pulls himself up and it plays songs to him.
And oooooooh, the fun one can have in the Tupperware cabinet.
He's like to get everything out from the bottom shelf and then just push it around the floor. I can't complain--it entertains him while we work in the kitchen.

9 months

Hangin with Pooh on the 9 month birthday. B-Man is feeling under the weather--has an ear infection, so he gets to have some antibiotic fun for the next 10 days. He had some really bad congestion for a couple of days, but seems to be improving.
Let's see. At 9 months, Brady can crawl all over the place. He can pull himself up to his knees. He can climb stairs!! (this was a new development over the weekend). He can pull himself to a standing position, but doesn't stand for very long yet. He's eating table food and enjoying most everything we give him. He still loves bath time, though he does not particularly enjoy getting his face wet. He still takes a morning nap and afternoon nap. Generally goes to sleep about 8:30 at night and wakes up about 7:00 - 7:15. He has 6 teeth now and a head full of hair (and is in desperate need of a haircut). He babbles quite a bit, but still nothing that would qualify as his first word. Did I miss anything? Do you have any questions? Let me know if you do!

Aaaaaw, would you ever get sick of seeing such a happy kid?

Let the training begin

Training on how to be properly equipped for the workshop. Brady got to try on some of Dad's ear protection recently. He wasn't quite sure what to make of those things.
Let's go do some work!

More wedding pics

Doing a little dancing--notice the ratio of girls to guys!. I don't recall what we were laughing about, but it was obviously something funny. I couldn't help but put this one in here. We both have cleavage!!! Whoop, whoop. And we're gettin jiggy.
One of Tye's cousins--she LOVED being twirled around, so I gave her a whirl a few times. It was my arm workout for the weekend.
Collecting donations for the money dance. I was trying to help the groom win, but you just can't beat a beautiful woman in a white dress. And besides, they both won by marrying each other!
The last shot of the night. We helped to close the place down. I haven't been up that late in a long time. But it was well worth it.
So, a big congratulations to Amy & Tye. Everything about the ceremony and reception was beautiful and fun and we felt so privileged to be a part of it. We can't wait to see what the future holds for the happy couple.

The Burger Wedding

A few pictures from the wedding. Amy & Tye Burger (and yes, it sounds very weird to say Amy Burger) are now off on their honeymoon. A big congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Burger--it was a beautiful wedding and we had a great time. And I only cried a couple of times during my toast!

Brian and I before the wedding. A great shot of the back of the bride's dress. It was a beautiful dress. All the little girls kept telling her she looked like a princess. And she did!
The wedding party dance. Apparently the best man said something to make me laugh. I like this picture--the light reflecting off the disco ball. Maybe Brian could be a photographer?

The beautiful bride and I. I told you she looked beautiful.

The reception was at Boulevard Brewing Company and it was an incredible space. It had an outdoor patio with a phenomenal view of the Kansas City skyline. It was perfect.

Wedding weekend

Whew! We had a big weekend. Our good friends Amy & Tye got married on Saturday and as the matron of honor, I stayed plenty busy. Getting so pretty takes some work!!! The wedding was great and the bride absolutely beautiful. I'll be posting more pictures later.

These are a couple of pictures from the rehearsal at the church. Dad &Brady did a good job of hanging out and not making much noise--Brady found plenty of stuff to entertain himself.

Mozart? Beethoven? Chopin? Bach?

No, it's the B-man, trying his hand at playing the piano. We tested out the kiddo's musical abilities last night. We've tried before, but he had no interest in the piano. Well, that has most definitely changed. He was loving the piano last night. And as you can see, the black keys, along with the low notes are his favorites.

Be sure to notice the head shake towards the end. He's just learned how to do that in the past few days, probably after watching Mom & Dad shake their head "No" at him when he tries to grab his food and send it flying! He thinks the head shake is funny; we're not quite convinced! Although it is hard not to laugh at him when he does it--we just try to keep him from seeing our laughter. Otherwise he'll have a hard time learning the true definion of No!

Let the mischief begin

Apparently Brady is going from crawling on all fours right to pulling himself up. He mastered that talent over the weekend. In the process, discovered he could get into his toy box in the living room and grab whatever is on top. What fun!

He looks so sad here, but I don't know why.
We had to lower the mattress in the crib--the kiddo was having way too much trying to pull himself out of the crib, so we had to put a quick stop to that.
