Big News!

Brady had such a big day yesterday that he just crashed on the couch before we ate dinner.  So, little B had a big, big day yesterday.  He used the potty for the VERY FIRST TIME!  Yep, that's right.  He used the potty.  It happened at day care.  Jennice said he's just been intrigued by all the other kids going potty and she sat him down on the potty just to see what he would do and he went potty after a few minutes.  I know it's a little premature to get excited about it.  But hey, a mom can hope.

More pool time

We've spending a lot of time at the pool lately, which makes little B quite the happy camper.  He loves the pool and has no fear of the water, which makes Momma so proud.  These pictures are from the new pool in Manhattan and it is FUN, FUN, FUN.  Lots to do and 2 kiddie areas, though Brady would just prefer to keep on walking into deep water if I let him.

The area in these pictures is from a shallow area where lots of kids play.  There is another, separate, baby pool, but Brady preferred this area because he could walk to where it was deeper and move around more.

He's still fascinated by the fountains, as you can see!

Pool Time

Gee, the heat index was only 108 yesterday.  What's a family to do when it's so hot.
SWIM!  Or in our case, set up the kiddo pool and enjoy the water because unless you're in water, there's no other way to withstand the sweltering heat.

Brady is LOVING the baby pool.  We set up on the back patio and every day he gets home and wants to walk all the way downstairs to play in the pool.  He is definitely a water baby so far.

And he even loves a good splash!

First veggies

I harvested the first vegetables out of our garden on July 5th.  Three zucchini and one yellow squash.  I've picked several zucchini since then, along with 3 cherry tomatoes yesterday and probably some more squash tonight.  I've got tons of tomatoes, but most are still green.  They're starting to turn though, so we'll have plenty of those in about a week, I think.
Yeah for vegetable season!

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July celebrating Grandpa Caskey's birthday in Topeka.

Little B just has a great smile, which you can see in these pictures. He's an ornery toddler right now, but still precious as can be.

Staycation 2010

Staycation 2010 is off to a great start.
I purchased a Cricut, which is quite the handy machine for scrapbookers.  With the time off, I've finally had time to unpack it and use the little contraption and it is GREAT!.
Here it is fresh out of the box.

And a brief example of what the machine does.  It basically cuts letters, numbers, symbols and other stuff out whatever paper you insert.  Instead of purchasing stickers or something else, now I can make it myself.  I think it's great, though I want more cartridges (more fonts, more designts, etc.) and those things get expensive at about $40/cartridge.

Baseball

B is learning how to play his baseball game.  Swinging the bat is pretty easy; swinging it the right direction is a whole different matter!

Pictures are hard

We took new family pictures yesterday morning up in Clay Center.  Here's our handsom little guy before we headed out.

Taking pictures must be rough work.  Well, that, and skipping your nap.  B crashed at home and took a little power nap before supper right on the couch.

Don't you just love a sleeping kid?

Summer Time

Just a few random pictures to get you in the summertime mood, in case you aren't already there.  I purchased, for a whopping $2, a little piano/desk combo at our neighborhood garage sale a couple of weeks ago.  B-man is LOVING it.  He wouldn't even let me get it inside before he just had to play with it.

Oh, it's just so hard to pull down the desk part of this thing!
And, the sprinkler has come out and I'm sure will be making more appearances throughout the summer months.  B's not quite sure what to make of the sprinkler; this was as close as he ever got to it.
