Bath love

This baby girl loves her bath.  Didn't catch any pics while she was in the water, but Brian managed to snap a couple post-bath all cozy and wrapped up in her towel.
 Look at those chubby cheeks!

One of Brady's favorite activities these days - chase.  Loves being chased.  Loves to chase you.  Really just loves to do anything that involves running around the house acting like a mad man.  So, here's a little chase sequence for you.

Riley County Fair - 2011 Edition

Before we ventured out to see Cars 2 on Saturday, we got up early and traveled to the Riley County Fair so we could check out the animals, which are fortunately Brady's favorite part of the fair.  He'd probably love the rides, but when you take him during the day and the rides aren't up and running, he really doesn't know what he's missing.  SCORE!

I love the piglets.  Every year, that's my favorite part of the animals.
And no trip to the fair is complete for us unless we can climb on some trucks, trailers, or skidloaders.

Cars 2

We finally, FINALLY took Brady to see Cars 2.  This was his very first movie to watch in a theatre and he did a great job.  Thanks to some careful planning (no watching the 3D version after reading Amber's experience with Aidan) and some food (popcorn and then fruit snacks) and some luck, we made it through the entire movie with no problems.  Brady did get restless towards the end, but managed to be fine just by standing up and eating more fruit snacks.
I didn't get any pictures in the movie theatre, but snapped a couple on our way home.  He was a very happy boy after watching the movie.  Now we need to get a Finn McMissile toy and a Holly Shiftwell car (because we don't have enough Cars paraphernalia in our house already).

Brenna is 3 months old

3 months.  Seriously.  Little Miss B. is already 3 months old.  Some days it feels like just yesterday that we drove to the hospital in the wee hours of the morning to go through 16 hours of labor before delivering.  But other days it feels like we've already had a lifetime with her.
Not much to report at the ripe old age of 3 months.  Brenna still has all of her hair, though she's starting to get a bald spot in the back where she sleeps on it.  She has crazy, I'm-gonna-go-whatever-way-I-want-to hair.  She is trying soooo hard to roll over.  She can get to her side, but not just all the way quite yet.  She's had quite the appetite lately, out-eating this mom by nearly a 2:1 ratio.
Brady is still quite good around Brenna.  He does get jealous, but for the most part is very loving towards her.
Don't mind the sexy midriff showing on our little girl!

Lots o'smiles

We get to see quite a few smiles from Brenna these days.  Such a nice change from all the crying and not smiling we journeyed through the first few weeks of her life.

She adores the blue elephant attached to her car seat.  Don't know why, don't care why.  Just glad she enjoys it and that the inanimate object makes her happy.

She is smiling.  I swear.

Smiling and laughing.

Husband of the Year

Mr. Smoller is handy.  In fact, handy is an understatement for describing his skill set around the house.
Need a new starter in the car?  He'll install it!
Need cabinets for your laundry room?  He'll take care of it!
Need to finish your basement?  He'll do the wiring, plumbing, drywalling, sanding, painting and trim work!
You get the idea.

Well, this woman who got to assist in designing Smoller Casa and somehow forgot to include a hallway closet in the design needed some help.  As in, where do we put the shoes, coats and other stuff once we get home?  Well wonder no more folks.  Courtesy of Mr. Smoller we now have our own entryway bench.  This awesome piece of furniture will get some hooks and a coat of polyurethane and then make its home in our garage.
Can I just tell you how excited I am to have a place to kick off the shoes, hang the coats and drop other stuff right before walking into the house?  And because of my excitement, I'm naming Brian as Husband of the Year.  It's his official title now, please address him accordingly!

One Cool Dude

He doesn't wear the sunglasses 75% of the time.  24% of the time he wears them upside down.  But the 1% of the time that he wears them correctly is the 1% that counts.

Handsome boy

What a handsome kid.  Too bad he's ornery as heck.

BIG slide

Brady went down a very tall slide at the park in Wamego on July 4th.  Further reinforces the fact this kid has no fear.  I was even apprehensive as he was climbing the stairs to get to the top, but not him.

More sibling love

Brady loves to hold his little sister.  That is, he loves to hold his baby sister when she is getting more attention than him and he thinks that holding said sister will get him more attention from the adults in the room.

Do you notice a trend in these pictures? What do we call it--the crooked hold?

Happy Birthday America!

My favorite picture from the 4th of July.
We had some fun with our friends The Tadtmans and I think the 3 kids lined up in a row like the picture above is just absolutely adorable.  I love pictures taken from behind; it's an obsession of mine.
Running through the grass with the parachute firework.
 Looking skyward with Dad.
 Mom & Brenna hanging out.

Summer haircut

So, our son has A LOT of hair.  Seriously.  Way more hair than Dad and frankly, I think he's got more hair than Mom, too.  How completely and utterly unfair is that!  I couldn't find a great picture that shows his hair, but this one will do.
This mom decided Brady needed a summer haircut to keep him cooler and to lengthen the time between haircuts.  Personal grooming isn't really on the top of Brady's favorite things to do list.  He is just terrible when it's time to cut his hair or his fingernails.
Anyway, cut it we did! Not completely buzzed, but close to it.  He's got to be comfortable with the shorter hair, or at least that's what I'm going to tell myself!

It's hot, hot, hot!

It may be hot, but Brady doesn't mind!  At least not as long as he can play in the pool.  He picked up right where he left off from last summer and LOVES the pool.  Splashes and swims around and dances in the water.  He has a great time.
