Bath Time

"Hmmmm, I must think about this. I'm not quite sure what to make of this activity. Let me make a serious face and pose with my hand so it appears I am deep in thought.

Oh, this bath stuff isn't so bad. The water is nice and warm and now I am clean. Yippee!

And now I'm all cuddled up in a towel. This isn't so bad. Perhaps I can handle this bath time business."

Maybe that's what he is thinking. Bath time is pretty good, although he shreaks quite loudly when we first put him in the water. After about 10 seconds he realizes it isn't so bad and calms down and starts to smile. It's quite amusing.

3 Months Old

He's so serious looking! Brady was 3-months old as of yesterday. So here he is towering over Pooh--much better than his 2-month picture. He's getting very good at holding his head up. Unofficially he weighs about 12 pounds and we think he's about 24 inches long. No doctor's appointment this month, so Mom & Dad just get as close as they can on those figures. Our biggest development lately has been Brady's ability to sleep through the night. Yes, it was not just a one-night trick. He has been sleeping through the night since Friday the 13th. He sometimes wakes up about 5:30 or so and cries himself back to sleep, but for the most part I wake him up about 7:00.

The baseball team won 2 out of 3 against Houston over the weekend. My dear friend Amy got to see the bat cats along with her fiance, Tye. I imagine she got to enjoy better weather than we did in Kansas!

Opening Day for K-State Baseball

It's Opening Day! For K-State baseball, that is. The cats take on the Houston Cougars tonight at 6:30 p.m. No radio broadcast, but you can catch live stats at www.k-statesports.com.
Brady is obviously a big K-State fan. He loves the Cats so much he'll even wear a K-State hat (big deal considering he won't wear any other hat or even remotely let you touch his head!).

In honor of Opening Day, Brady is wearing a baseball outfit today. It's not purple & white, but it says baseball.

Have a great weekend!

Brady meets a girl!

Brady and I went to a baby shower last week for my good friend Bethany. Bethany used to be my dental hygienist before she moved away. She now lives near Kansas City, but she came back to Manhattan for a shower. Bethany is expecting a boy in late April.

The shower was at my good friend Sarah's house. Sarah's daughter Hadley was there and was so very good with Brady. We couldn't help but get a couple of pictures of Hadley holding Brady and being very gentle with him. She did a great job. And Brady didn't seem to mind one bit. Hadley is abotu 20 months old--an older woman for our little boy!We had a great time and really enjoyed getting to see Bethany and some of our other friends.

Brady sleeps through the night!

Ah, precious sleep. It's such a wonderful thing. Well we hit a big milestone last night. Fed Brady at 10:00 and then put him down at 10:30 and he didn't wake up until 5:30 this morning. That qualifies as sleeping through the night! We'll see if that becomes a regular occurrence or if it was just a one-night gift. But it was nice to get that much sleep at one time.

Sleeping Baby

I couldn't resist a couple of pictures of Brady sleeping. He's been doing a good job of sleeping at night--I'm actually having to wake him up in the morning to feed him before he goes to the babysitter. Here's a close up of little man.

And here he is all swaddled up. That swaddler is the best invention. Ever. Let me say that again. Best. Thing. Ever. I don't know what we'll do when we can't swaddle him anymore.

Go Cats!

Brady is becoming quite the little K-Stater. Last night we went to the men's basketball game against Iowa State, which we won 65-50.
Here he is in Dad's office before the game. He does a good job at the games. Usually sleeps for the first half and then looks around and takes it all in for the second half. He handles the lights and the noise well. He'll startle a little when the crowd is quiet and then gets loud all of a sudden, but otherwise he just loves it.

Here's the Smoller family enjoying the game! Poor Brady--his K-State jackets are all too big for him, but I thougth he needed more than just a short-sleeved onesie on his arms.
